Dear All,
It has been some time since Mindtimeshare published a Newsletter, but with the start of the New Year we certainly have taken on the proposal to continue again with the monthly updates and advice about the latest activities of the dubious companies.
The year 2013 closed with a staggering 495 dubious company’s active throughout the year, of which 306 companies were set up in 2013.
January 2014 has started strong, and what we have noticed is that there is a high activity level with those companies that offer a disposal service.
The same as with cold calling resale companies, any Timeshare owner should be extremely careful here and start asking questions.
First of all, why is this company cold calling you? Did you ask them for information or did they get your details through some dubious source?
Who is the company that is calling me? Are they registered? Are they duly identified and do they have a traceable address? Are there any upfront fees involved?
We actually published an article about Disposal Companies in the past, and please do have a look at the following link http://wp.me/p1kmoi-FS as the tips we provided in this article are still more than valid!
Make sure you do a proper research on any company that cold calls you with offers related to your timeshare. Check out our latest cold caller list http://www.mindtimeshare.com/Cold-Caller-List.htm and directly with us as well if we have any further feedback on the company that has contacted you.
Like with any other business, the companies related to Timeshare can be good ones who provide an excellent service and there are those who seem to handle their business in a “dubious” way.
So make sure you are using the right ones and if any doubt, we are here to help!
If you receive a cold call from any company with offers about your Timeshare or Holiday Membership, do let us know. We will provide you with all the information we have and it will help to warn others in case these companies do not work by the rules.

Good afternoon Alberto I have just UK time 13 30 Tues Feb had a phone call from CHARLES THOMAS who described himself as ‘a lawyer’ of Canarian and Legal Alliance based in Gran Canaria. He was tracing former clients of Incentive Leisure, and appeared to have all my details, including names of the management of Club Playa Vista at Riviera del Sol.
He was obviously after offering to get cash back for ILG clients, but didn’t knowe that I already had – in fact when he learnt the figures ( iniitial payment ILG £5.400. via B/.card, projected reimbursement of £2,800 which was actually upped to £3,100 ( approx) after a -phone connversation with B/Card rep one evening when I gave him additional info.
Mr Thomas was very polite and well-spoken unlike some who have offered to help. He also was correctly knowledgable about the situation and did not press the matter once he got the picture. In fact he more or less congratulated for getting the cash unaided. Unlike the earlier phone call from ‘Wendy’ of Reclaim etc etc who got short shrift from me.
Hope the above is of value. I would stress that Mr Thomas was very polite not at all your actual ‘sales rep’ type so I presume he’ s what he said, a lawyer. Regards Marrion
A lady called Patricia miller from fast line timeshare has just rung. Asked if I had been contacted by any companies offering to sell my timeshare and asking for money up front. I told her I knew all about these various dubious sales companies from your web site. ( which she said she’d never heard of ) so I enlightened her and put the phone down.
Further to my comment, I should add that the confirmation is from the actual owners of the T S complex – Diamond Resorts, USA.

Hi again; I corresponded with you about 8 months ago, re disposal of our Mystic Dunes T S in Florida. Well, using ‘The Timeshare Shop’ in Swinton, Manchester, it seems we have successfully done so. I have just received a letter confirming transferring ownership to a 3rd party. AND, we have not paid The T S Shop a penny yet! The only money we have paid out is to a local Notary Public for the paperwork to go back to USA – a sum of about £60. I now await an invoice from ‘The T S Shop’ for £1351.
So it is possible after all, a fact I had begun to doubt!
