It certainly sounds important and almost credible when you get a phone call from a person claiming to be working in the “English” department of the European Central Notary Office in Madrid.
But really it is all hot air, and certainly there is nothing true in what they say or confirm by email.
This cold caller is contacting defrauded Timeshare consumers and claim to have 245 offices in the province of Madrid. All subscribed to the official notary registry, and all important notary offices.
They work with qualified lawyers (Abogados) because they also say that in Spain notary offices are actually managed by qualified lawyers, unlike the UK notary offices.
Sometimes you wonder who on earth makes up all these nonsense!
The call is made because apparently the consumer has been awarded a large sum of money through a court claim, of which the consumer had no idea at all, and the money is about to be transferred to the consumers’ account.
The European Central Notary office being appointed as the intermediaries and handling all the paperwork.
This is only a “warm up” and soon they will go straight to “business and they start asking for Taxes, fees, official certificates (NRTE) etc. You name it; they need it and all against a cost.
The money awarded that was about to be send off, all of the sudden never seems to arrive and the consumer becomes a victim of a very elaborated fraud, losing a lot of money along the way.
Please be aware of these fake offices and don’t let them impress you with fancy names, and custom made positions. There is no such thing as a notary office calling to give away money, and notaries in Spain are notaries the same as in the UK.

I have been contacted by Central European Notary saying there will be maintenance fees of 650.00 on Club Class VIP from January due to us leaving the EU and to surrender membership is 1295.00 payable before surrender papers can be issued. I got all my money back after Club Class went bust and have never used it or been contacted since 2011. This seems like another way of extracting monies from people.
I have been approached by Central European Notary, saying they have £38,000.24p compensation available to me for CCG purchase and other payments made/not received. They have gone through the process and now declare the money to be available, but, requirepayment of £2,495 in order to proceed.
Very pushy. Agree now , or, loose the money!!!!!
