A cold calling company using the name of Claim & Recuperation is offering Timeshare consumers the possibility to do a claim against the dubious companies that have defrauded them in the past.
This claim is handled by the supposed lawyers from a company called Eton & Henshaw Services in Spain. The agent calling also confirms that Eton & Henshaw are fully registered with the European Timeshare Directive for the past 3 years.
This might sound really good, but we are afraid that the Timeshare Directive is a “law” as far as we know and not an Association or Entity to which you can affiliate!
Surprisingly the court case already took place and monies are waiting to be paid out to the victims. The lawyers from Eton Henshaw Services only need to post the corresponding claim and that’s it.
The substantial claim of several thousands of Pounds depends though on several payments that needs to be made. First of all the lawyers’ fees, which are around £600 and then also the taxes related to the amount that will be paid out. As this is a rather high amount of money, the taxes quickly add up to £2000 or more.
All the payments are requested to be processed by bank transfer to Eton Henshaw Services. This is not a protected payment method and those paying fees to any cold calling company through bank transfers should be aware that it will be impossible to claim a refund.
Eton Henshaw Services was already included in our cold caller list before, but it seems they are again actively calling consumers and we certainly want to warn everybody that this company is not to be trusted.
Needless to say that there are no courts cases where money has been set aside for the victims, and neither should a cold call from a supposed legal office be trusted.
If you have been speaking to anybody claiming to be from Eton Henshaw Services or affiliated to the European Timeshare Directive, then please let us know.
Have been cold called so many times the latest was Legal Prosecutors. My answer is to say I’d love to get my money back and would be willing to deposit the ‘fees’ with my Spanish solicitor until the case is sorted. I would even be willing to double their fee for a favourable outcome. Comments are ‘We’re an English company’ to which I reply that my solicitor is also registered in England as well as Spain. Then it’s ‘We’ll get back to you on that’ and I never hear from them again.
One solution to the continued problem of cold calling.
